On 16th March, just one day after hearing of its shortlisting in the Construction News Awards, SBS received confirmation that it had also made the finals of the East Midlands Celebrating Construction Awards.
SBS will be a finalist in the 'Integration & Collaborative Working Award' category. The winners will be announced at the awards evening, which will take place on 19th May 2017 at the Nottingham Belfry.
On 15th March 2017, Construction News named SBS as a finalist in its Supply Chain Excellence award category. The Construction News Awards will be held this year on 13th July at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
The company's nomination focused on various projects procured through Efficiency East Midlands and, in particular, on its work for Nottingham City Homes - a scheme for which SBS has already won two industry awards.
In February 2017, representatives of Nottingham City Homes, SBS and its supply chain partners attended the grand re-opening of the Sheila Roper Community Centre in Nottingham.
Between 2015 and the end of 2016, SBS delivered an £8 million external wall insulation scheme for NCH - work that entailed the treatment of more than 1,100 social and private properties. As part of its commitment to the project, SBS - together with key supply chain partners such as PermaRock products and Nationwide Windows - agreed to support the refurbishment of the community centre.
SBS has won two award categories in the Building Communities Awards, which are hosted each year by the procurement consortium Efficiency East Midlands. SBS won the Innovation Award and was also named 2017 Contractor of the Year.
Attended by around 400 representatives of the housing and construction sectors, the awards took place on Friday 24th February at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham.
On 30th January 2017, the organisers of the Red Rose Awards named Sustainable Building Services (UK) Ltd as a finalist in its Construction Company award category.
The Red Rose Awards are held annually and celebrate high-achieving companies in Lancashire. The Construction Company Award is designed to recognise businesses that have demonstrated innovative thinking, successful growth and impressive performance with respect to sales, profit, recruitment, expansion and investment.
