On 15th March 2017, Construction News named SBS as a finalist in its Supply Chain Excellence award category. The Construction News Awards will be held this year on 13th July at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
The company's nomination focused on various projects procured through Efficiency East Midlands and, in particular, on its work for Nottingham City Homes - a scheme for which SBS has already won two industry awards.
The Supply Chain Excellence award is designed to recognise "outstanding performance by a supply chain, where all partners have worked together towards common goals and can demonstrate improved performance." Shortlisted projects were chosen because they showed: "how supply chain collaboration and integration has resulted in a better outcome for all parties."
Specific shortlisting criteria included having common goals and a shared culture on matters such as health & safety, sustainability, risk management, innovation and quality.
The nomination is for SBS and key partners including Nottingham City Homes, PermaRock products and the energy company, E.ON.
In the next stage of the assessment process , two representatives of SBS will make a presentation to the judging panel. This will take place in London on 28th April.
