Sustainable Group (UK) Limited is a British building and property maintenance contractor with particular expertise in creating modern, energy efficient buildings. Over a period of 40 years, we have built lasting partnerships with some of the country's best known developers, housing associations and local authorities - and many of our framework agreements are now in their second and third generations.
We are wholly committed to partnership working. Through value engineering, strict quality control and a culture of communication and accountability, we seek to make ourselves as valuable as possible to our clients and their residents.
The company was established in 1976 under the name of St Anne’s Contractors. At the time, it specialised mainly in painting and decorating and in pre-paint repairs. Gradually, however, we introduced additional maintenance, refurbishment and new build capabilities, and we developed industry-leading expertise in the field of solid wall insulation. The business has therefore evolved into an organisation with a number of distinct strands and specialisms. It was for this reason that, in January 2013, the company restructured itself and changed its name to the Sustainable Group (UK) Ltd.
Our broader capability enabled us to offer customers a far more comprehensive range of services, and clients responded accordingly - awarding us places on major frameworks across the UK. Indeed, since 2011, we have grown the business by 350% and we continue to expand year on year.
We are wholly committed to partnership working. Through value engineering, strict quality control and a culture of communication and accountability, we seek to maximise value for our clients, residents and the wider community.
One of the ways we do this is by identifying, securing and co-ordinating different sources of funding for optimal effect. We help clients to make their capital budgets work in tandem with public/energy sector schemes such as ECO - and with any available European Union, Scottish or Welsh funding streams - to achieve significant efficiency savings and real economies of scale.
By offering private finance, we also help to ensure that private homeowners are given an opportunity to benefit from works taking place on local social housing projects - thereby delivering community-wide improvements. We are regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and supported by Barclays Partner Finance. We are also founder members of EnergieSprong UK - a new refurbishment sector initiative dedicated to making net-zero-energy housing a widespread reality in Britain.
The concept of sustainability is central to the Group's vision and values. The importance of environmental sustainability drives our energy efficiency work, of course, but we also strive to ensure greater sustainability in communities, in our workforce and in our own business model.
We do this by:
This approach has helped us improve the lives of literally tens of thousands of British residents, and - on an ongoing basis - it enables us to maximise the local social and economic impacts of our work.
